This is fascinating! I listened and all this encouraged me to do my own research. I learned things I had had no idea about. Nobody knows about these historical facts. In our mainstream media we often read about Poles collaborating with Germans! I am interested in Poland because my daughter is dating a very bright Polish guy who talked to me and my wife about his country of origin. I’m spreading this so that others get to know about the heroes of Zegota. Your Polcast is truly fascinating. We listen to it regularly and so does Witek, my daughter’s boyfriend, who says he learns a lot himself. Keep going!
I studied WW2 history but this was never mentioned. Poland is a country with truly unique and impressive history. This whole idea of the elaborate underground state and how it was meticulously designed and implemented is a perfect subject for a movie. I’m your devoted listener. I’m sure other countries are interesting as well but I guess none has such a medium as this podcast to get people hooked, I’m planning a visit to Poland next summer. Will visit many of the places you presented. I found you on the radio in Toronto by accident and now download POLcast to my iPhone from iTunes. Please inform us about other such UofT or other panels and events. Obrigada!
